The Nevada Museum of Art (NCAA) is a globally acknowledged research center devoted to supporting the study, appreciation, and practice of visual interaction between people and their visual environments. A member of the Center for Study in Visual Arts Research (CSRA), the museum was created as part of the Vision for Education Research, Education, and exhibitions in Nevada. It was founded in Reno, Nevada, by Bill Ziemba and Melinda Blau, who were awarded the highest number of awards for their contributions to the field of visual arts in the state of Nevada.

The museum is also home to a number of performance venues, like a performing arts center and a series of workshops for academic and professional development of participants. There are a great number of visiting artists who use the Nevada Center for the Arts to display their work. For interested individuals, there are a number of specially designed visits arranged through the state’s Department of Cultural Services to allow art enthusiasts to visit and see these talented people in action.

Children under the age of twelve are usually not permitted to enter the Museum unless accompanied by an adult member of the family. The Nevada Museum of Art has a long tradition of hosting a variety of cultural events, including musical and dance performances, wine tasting and storytelling. The “Reno Jazz Festival” which takes place every May, is one of the best-attended events in Nevada.
